Childs "Sonny" Anderson

     Childs "Sonny" Anderson passed away Friday, May 26th, 2017. He was born November 24th, 1932, to Jewell and Mauddine Anderson Birdwell in Corpus Christi, Texas.
     He spent his growing up years in Caledonia, Texas, and graduated from Mount Enterprise High School.
     He came to Longview, Texas when he was 19 years old and was employed at Texas Eastman.
     He was drafted into the Army in 1952 and served in the Korean War. He returned to work at Texas Eastman and retired in 1996 as a certified crane operator.
     Sonny loved to fish for bass. He always had a garden, growing all kinds of tomatoes which he shared with friends. He was a great cook, and he was able to repair anything electrical.
     He is survived by his wife, Janice Anderson, son, Earl Anderson, daughter, Melodie St. Louis; grandchildren, Jason Laine and wife, Tiffany, and Camille McVicar and husband, Zack. He was a father figure for Camille all her life. He loved his grandchildren very much.
Great-grandchildren are Jack, Sam and Nate Laine and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Deborah Laine; and sister, Bobbie Brinson.
     He has four sisters, Nell Seelback, Glenda Goleman and husband, Stan, Marjorie Anderson and Ann Davis and husband, Bob.
     Our family wishes to thank the nurses and aides from Life Care Hospice, who took care of him during his illness.
     A graveside service for the family is pending at Rosewood Park Cemetery.
