Mavis Curtis

     Mavis Parker Anderson Curtis was born September 28, 1926 to Willie Lewis Parker and Mary Lucille Draper in Pickens, Mississippi. She left us Easter morning April 16, 2017 to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
     She was so loved by her family and friends. Her life on this earth was so full of Joy and Love. Widowed at age of 45 from husband H.V. (Andy) Anderson in September 1971, she soon began a career in real estate sales to support her three teenage girls, Karon, Crystal and Terese. After a successful 15 year career she married Jack Curtis and soon retired to enjoy many more years until his passing in June 2004.
     She will be remembered by those who loved her and enjoyed the many gatherings in her home filled with food, fun and fellowship, but most of all for her unconditional love. We will treasure her memory always.
     She is survived by her baby sister, Charlotte Smith from Jackson, Mississippi; three daughters, Karen Cox (Stanley), Crystal Hardy (Tommy) and Terese Russell Adams (Ted); three cherished grandchildren and their families, Chris Cox, Jeremy Cox, Andrew Cox, Jason Hardy, Rachel Pipkin, Charlotte Bryant, Parker Hardy and Mary Zarosky. A multitude of great grandchildren who fondly new her as their Grandma Mamis and one great great grandchild; a multitude of nieces and nephews, in-laws and friends who loved her dearly.
     Visitation will be Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at FUMC Hallsville, 1256 W. Main (Hwy 80), Hallsville, Texas, with a Celebration of Life following at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to FUMC Hallsville.
     A special heart felt thanks to all the staff at Buckner Westminster for the exceptional care and love given to Mom through this journey and to Traditions Hospice for their loving care in her final few days. Theirs is not just a job but a calling.
