Robert Nolon Bullard Jr.

Memorial services for Robert Nolon Bullard Jr., 83, of Longview, will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 16, 2017, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Alpine Road, under the direction of East Texas Funeral Home.

Mr. Bullard was born on February 17, 1934, in Longview, Texas, and was a 1952 graduate of Judson High School. He began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone at the age of 18 and retired at the age of 62 after 43 years with the same company. Robert married Joy Garner on November 15, 1952, and they shared 65 years together. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on July 30, 1958, in New York City and served as an elder at the local congregation in Longview for almost 60 years. He took early retirement to devote more time in the ministry and to assist in building Kingdom Halls, which he continued until his health failed. Robert's life was centered around his Jehovah's Witness ministry and his family.

Mr. Bullard was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia "Patty" Bullard Dowell in 1995 and is survived by his wife, Joy; sons, Robert N. Bullard, III "Bubba", of New Mexico; daughter and son-in-law, Dina and Darrell Lyons of Longview; son, Brian Bullard of Hallsville, seven grandchildren, Marcus, Adam, Breanna, Tori, Hope, Peyton, and Blayde, and five great-grandchildren.
