She attended Piney school until the 8th grade. She worked in the Blue Buckle blue jean factory in Marshall, Texas as well as administration assistant of oil and gas sales. Later, Emmy met the love of her life, Gilbert Baker. They were married, and she became a homemaker.
Emmy enjoyed life to the fullest by being around her family and friends. Family was of the utmost importance to her. She was not able to bare children but took care of many nieces and nephews. People will remember the wonderful gardening she and her sister grew for many years. They would make sure to share their crops with others in the community. She liked to dabble in art, and she was skilled at cutting hair for the men in the family. Emmy loved to sit and listen to country music. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
