Alicia Culaba Juntilla, beloved wife and mother, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at the age of 79. Alicia was born on December 28, 1941, in Cotabato-Philippines, to Celestino Culaba and Concepcion Lumogdang. On June 17, 1962, she married Carlos Remo Juntilla. She had seven children, twelve grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Alicia is remembered by her family and friends as a compassionate and remarkable woman, full of courage and enthusiasm. She was an independent, hard worker who provided for not only her family but also her friends, neighbors, and anyone else who might cross her path. Alicia was selfless, nurturing, and kindhearted, as well as bold, even feisty, standing up for what she believed in and never failing to protect her loved ones. Even as she tended to the physical needs of her family and friends, she impacted their lives spiritually as well. The things she loved she would carry with her so that she could share them with those she loved. Not to mention, she had a remarkable memory, which would always be a huge help to those around her who might tend to be forgetful.
Alicia was preceded in death by her parents, Celestino and Concepcion Culaba, and her son Arnold. She is survived by her husband, Carlos Remo Juntilla, her sister, Letecia Dequinco, her children Arniel Juntilla, daughter-in-law Rowena, Aries Juntilla, Amie Juntilla, Alma Juntilla, son-in-law Zherade Sara, Arthur Juntilla, Adie Mercado, and son-in-law Eul Vincent. Grandchildren include Roniel, Arniel, jr., Christene, Cathren, Clarice, Bernadette, Jhonvic, Elisabeth, Kimberly, Stephanie, Zaq, and Kendall; two great-grandchildren, James and Alexander, along with fourteen nephews and nieces. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2021, in the auditorium of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Longview, Texas, at 7 pm. The service will be live streamed on social media for those who cannot attend.
