Bill Thompson Obituary

Bill was born on March 24, 1937. He was 84 when he passed on June 16, 2021, with his family along-side him. Bill grew up in Carthage with his parent’s, sister and brother.
Bill graduated from Carthage High School and went to Panola College along-side his high school sweetheart Jean. Once Bill graduated from Carthage high school, he went on to Panola college where him and Jean won the rodeo King & Queen during their time at school. Not long after he finished at Panola, Bill married Jean and they had their two children Lisa and Barry. They moved to Shreveport, La, where Bill advanced in his career at Delta Distributors.  Bill was an avid golfer and once Jean started playing, they spent their time raising kids and spending time making “hole in ones”. Years later Bill and Jean moved to Longview where they joined Oak Forest Country Club & continue their love of golf. Bill also loved traveling to play golf and spending each hunting season in Fairplay at the Brady Camp. Bill also cherished spending time with his grandchildren Amanda, Brittney & Katie along with his great grandchildren, Jaxon and Jett.
Those left to cherish his memories are his sister Beth Brown, Sister-in law Peggie Snow (Rudy), Son Barry Thompson, Grandchildren Amanda Adkins (Dalton), Brittney Thompson, Katie Smith (Logan), and Great Grand Children Jaxon, Jett Duty and Stella & Jett Adkins; Along with many cousins, nephews and nieces.
He was proceeded in death by his Wife Jean Thompson, Daughter, Lisa Winans, Parents Reagan & Mary Thompson & his brother Bennie Don Thompson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 2503 Northview, Longview Texas, from 5:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M.
An interment and celebration will be held Saturday, June 26, 2021, in the Waldrop Cemetery in Fairplay, Texas at 10:00 A.M.
