Bob Hummel

Bob Hummel, 88, passed away on January 15, 2021 in Longview Texas.  Bob was born in Westfield Iowa on November 8, 1932 to Earl Hummel and Frances Leone Kelley-Hummel- Parson.

 He worked for Swift Meat Packing Company in Sioux City Iowa for 30 plus years until it’s closure, where he was a very active union member.  Bob then started his own lawn service which he operated until he moved to Texas.  He enjoyed going to the dog races, morning coffee with his friends, growing tomatoes, and soaking up some sun while watching hummingbirds.

Bob is survived by his four children, Gary (Carol) Hummel of Big Sandy Texas, Linnette (Bill) Mulder of Brookings South Dakota, Larry ( Linda “Sam”) Hummel of Cornville Arizona, and Ron (Marcy) Hummel of Sioux City Iowa, Brother Roger (Mardy) Hummel of Iowa, multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a nephew and nieces.

 He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother Keith Edward Hummel.  There will be no public service ,the family will have a private gathering.
