Carl Fromme Obituary

Carl Daniel Fromme Jr., known to many as “Bud", was born October 14, 1945 in Longview, Texas to Carl Fromme Sr. and Edna Fromme, and passed away peacefully on September 21, 2022. He married his high school sweetheart, Karen Bailey, in 1965 and they had two children, Kevin and Kim. Bud worked at Eastman Kodak for years until he opened his own welding and fabricating business. After that, he worked many different jobs and ended his career doing construction work in oil and gas refineries, which took him all across the United States.

Bud grew up in Hallsville and lived most of his life in the East Texas area until retiring in Haynesville, Louisiana. There he made many good friends that he considered family. Those close to Bud would agree he had a very colorful personality, along with his love of telling stories about his many adventures in life. Bud absolutely loved his faithful companion JB which would accompany him everywhere he went. JB often went to the bank, post office, pharmacy, and if he couldn't go in, he would wait patiently in the truck…guarding it. He had many hobbies, but his FAVORITE was catching, cleaning, and cooking fish. Another passion that he really enjoyed was cheering on the LSU Tigers.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Edna; sister, Carla Rawlinson; wife, Karen Bailey Fromme; nephew, Michael Insogna.

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Tony Insogna; sister and brother-in-law, Claudia and Bob Klumb; son, Kevin Fromme; daughter and son in law, Kim and Tommy Whatley; granddaughters, Emilee and Bailey Whatley; Alana Shields; Crystal Fromme; and Tatiana Campino; ex-wife of 25 years, Betty Fromme; and his ex-mother-in-law, Mariam Hollenshead.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, and he will be laid to rest by his beloved Karen.

A special thank you to Prime Care Hospice of Longview and Havencare Nursing Home. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to East Texas Funeral Home.
