On Tuesday December 8, 2020, Carl Winfred “Sonny” Stephenson loving father of two and faithful friend passed away in Longview, Texas at the age of 69. Sonny was a member of Church in the Wind and spent most of his time making music or riding motorcycles. He spent the last 30 years as a counselor helping others overcome addiction.

Sonny was born on January 4, 1951 in Warren, Arkansas to the late Winfred “Winky” C. Stephenson and Lillian Daisy Stephenson and is preceded in death by one sister, Teresa Denise Stephenson, and one brother, Darrell Alan Stephenson.

Sonny is survived by his son, Carl David Stephenson of Longview, Texas; daughter Samantha Willson of Longview, TX; grandchildren Dalton Tyler and Christopher Joey Stephenson, Madison Hailey and Brianna Nykole Willson; great-grandchildren Journey Monroe Stephenson and Juliet Mercy Stephenson; two brothers Howard Edward Stephenson and wife, Karen of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and Robert Bryan Stephenson and wife Jan of Monticello, Arkansas; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later time. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Carl Stephenson's life.
