Cheryl Lyn Quada, 64, of Longview, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2026 after a long battle with cancer. She was a devoted follower of Christ where her unwavering faith in God and her "Don't Quit" attitude guided her throughout her life. She will be remembered for her deep kindness for others.
Cheryl was born on November 30, 1960 in Jefferson, Texas where she also was raised. Cheryl graduated from Jefferson High School in 1979 where she was 5th in her class. After completing high school Cheryl went on to further her education. She received her Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science in 1996 from Texas A&M University-Texarkana. In 2001 she completed her Master of Business Administration from LeTourneau University. She also completed the PACT program
at LeTourneau University where she gained her teaching certificate. She became a certified teacher in the state of Texas in 2006.
Cheryl started out her career in business administration and ended her career in education. She dedicated her life to the field of education where she found her true calling as a school teacher. Passionate about learning and deeply committed to her students, she believed in the power of education to open doors and change lives. Throughout her career, she created a classroom environment filled with care, encouragement, and high expectations. She made it her mission to ensure that every child she taught had the support, resources and opportunities they needed to survive, both in school and beyond. Her gentle spirit, tireless education, and unwavering belief in her students' potential left a lasting impact on countless young lives.
Cheryl was very passionate about her family. She was a very loving daughter and sister. She would go above and beyond in helping her siblings whenever she could. Cheryl was a devoted and loving aunt who cherished her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. She went out
of her way to make them each feel uniquely loved and valued, always showing up with unwavering support, thoughtful gestures, and a heart full of pride. Her love for them was so deep that she chose to have their names engraved on the back of her tombstone - a lasting tribute to the special place they held in her heart and a symbol of the joy they brought into her life.
Left to cherish Cheryl's memories are her brother Don Quada of Jefferson, Texas, sister Sheila Bayles of Longview, Texas, nephew Andrew Koontz of Columbia, Tennessee, niece Ashley Cunningham of Mansfield, Texas, niece Emily Bayles and nephew Benjamin Bayles, both of Longview, Texas, great nephews and nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Scott and Dorothy Quada, her sister Cynthia Koontz, and her brother in law Samuel Koontz. The family would like to thank PrimeCare Hospice, Longview, Texas, and the nurses for all their care and support during this time of sickness.
A memorial will take place to honor the life of Cheryl on September 20, 2025 at 11:00 am, at Faith Tabernacle Church, Jefferson, Texas.
