David Paul Hightower of Longview passed away in Jefferson, Texas, on August 3, 2025, after an extensive illness.  After several years of health challenges, David is at peace without sickness and pain.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Glenna Hightower, and sisters-in-law, Lorreta Reed and Gayla Hightower.

David was born to Frank and Glenna Hightower in Memphis, Tennessee, on May 30th, 1951. After a few brief years in Houston, the Hightower family spent many years in Longview where David attended Pine Tree schools.

David enjoyed playing guitar, singing, writing songs, driving fast cars and motorcycles, and watching the Dallas Cowboys score touchdowns and win games.

David was also an excellent mechanic, capable of fixing anything.

More than anything, David enjoyed spending time with his wife, Paula; sons Eric and Elliot; brothers Frank, Bradley and other family members.

David was also loved by his beloved dogs, Babbs and Scout.

David proudly served his country in the Unites States Air Force for seven years with stints at McConnell, Langley and Laken Heath RAF Air Force Bases.
