Dr. Wanita Marie “Noni" Bice-Washington, 65, passed away on February 12, 2026, in Longview, Texas. A devoted educator and beloved family member, she leaves behind a legacy of compassion, intellect, and unwavering dedication to those around her.
Born on April 6, 1960, in Stockton, Kansas, Dr. Bice-Washington was the daughter of Delores and Richard Bice. Her early years in Kansas laid the foundation for a lifelong pursuit of knowledge and service. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma Panhandle State University before continuing her academic journey with a master’s degree in education from the University of Kansas. Throughout her life, Dr. Bice-Washington was known for being loving, kind, giving, funny, and smart—qualities that shone through both personally and professionally. Her commitment to education was not just a career but a calling; she dedicated herself to empowering students and advocating for equitable learning environments.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Davion Washington; her brothers John Bice(Humble,TX) and Rick Bice(Stockton, KS); her cherished grandchildren: Cameron Journet, Caleb Davis, Channing Johnson, Celincia Washington, and Cailani Stephens; and a host of loving friends and students she met along the way. Wanita is preceded in death by her parents, Delores and Richard Bice; and her son, John David Devon Washington.
Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched—as an educator who inspired growth and as a family member whose warmth brought joy to those around her. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
A Memorial Service will be held on February 28, 2026, at 12:00 PM at St. Mark's Baptist Church 690 Janear Circle, Grand Cane, LA 71032.
