Eddie Mason age 71 of Longview, Texas passed away on Saturday June 22, 2024, at his home with his loving family at his side. He was born on October 16, 1952, in Longview, Texas, he was a devoted husband to his previously passed wife Kimberly Mason and a loving father to his daughters, Tanya Spivey and Jennifer Mason and his stepsons Nick Lovell, Shane Markham, and Justin Markham.
Eddie worked in the rail car industry for over 30 years working at Rescar and Trinity Rail. Eddie was known for his work ethic, as well as his sense of humor and ability to brighten the day of everyone around him. Despite his many responsibilities and notable successes throughout his career, Eddie always made time for his family and his passions.
Though Eddie may not have liked being the center of attention, he deserves to have his long years of fatherly love honored. He was a man of kindness, generosity, untethering support, work ethic and providing an example for his children and family, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Eddie's hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He enjoyed hunting, shooting guns, riding four-wheelers, gardening, maintaining his property, smoking ribs/briskets/etc., and most famously for his spicy but phenomenal chili. His love for gardening and discipline to keep his property well maintained was something he shared with his children and family, instilling a work ethic within them that they will forever be thankful for.
Eddie is survived by his two daughters, Tanya Spivey and Jennifer Mason; three stepsons Nick Lovell, Shane Markham, and Justin Markham; and his grandchildren Damian Barr, Ted Fuller, Shaylen Mason, Bray Mason, and Zane Mason; his step grandson Dominic Markham; and sibling Luther Mason, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 10:00a.m. at Longview First Church located at 1600 Judson Rd in Longview.
His family finds comfort in knowing that Eddie's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught them, the love he shared with them, and the memories they will cherish forever.
