Obituary

Edward "Ed" Howard Braswell was born to Freeman E. Braswell and Iva. M. Belcher-Braswell on October 17, 1955 in Dallas, Texas; Went to be with his Lord and Savior June 17, 2023.

He is survived by his sister Glenda Braswell-Forbus, his brother Martin Braswell, Geri Braswell, numerous beloved family members and friends. He was preceded by his parents. Ed passed away peacefully at his home in Longview after suffering multiple strokes and a brief battle with cancer.

After graduating from Grand Prairie Highschool and brief employment at the naval base in Grand Prairie, he was employed with the Grand Prairie School District. After 30 years of service with the district he retired and moved to East Texas to care for his ailing father.

He was an avid outdoorsman with a particular love for fishing. He exemplified the term 'Gentle Giant' and never met a stranger and was a friend to all. A kind, caring man with a love for helping others lead him to volunteer at the Longview Dream Center for the past five years. At his request Ed will be cremated and a memorial and celebration of his life will take place at a later date. In his memory please make all donations to the Longview Dream Center.
