Emmitt Loyd Samples passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025, peacefully in his home. He was born in Pasadena Texas on May 15, 1959, to Muriel and Neal Baxter Samples. He graduated from Hughes Springs High School in 1978. Emmitt then married the love of his life, Mary, on October 23, 1987, as well as gaining a bonus daughter, Kimberly. They later went on to have their second child, Whitney, in 1988. Emmitt worked as a concrete finisher since he was about 15 years old with his brothers before working for himself. He truly lived life to the fullest through the simplest pleasures. Whether it was fishing and running trot lines in his favorite spot, hunting, cooking out and having fish fries with his family, or having a cold one with his buddies. He was always the life of the party.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary; his daughter and son-in-law Whitney and Obed Pina; grandchildren, Sarah White, Ayden White, Baylee Carson, and Braxton Pina; sisters, Virginia Swanson, Gail Cooper, and Joan Moldt; brother, Bruce Samples; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Muriel and Neal Baxter Samples; daughter, Kimberly White; brothers, Alex and Greg Samples.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Elara Home Care and Heart to Heart Hospice during this difficult time. The love shown to Emmitt was exceptional and truly appreciated.
Celebration of Life will be held in his honor. Location and time will be determined.
