George Lewis Copeland

George Lewis Copeland, 72, of Kilgore passed away August 13, 2020 in Tyler.

George was born in Jefferson, Texas to George D Copeland and Cletus Imogene (Fagg) Copeland on June 16, 1948.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Danville.  He started out working in the oil field at Johnson-Lawrence along side his dad and other family members.  He retired after many years from the City of Kilgore.  After retiring, he enjoyed making people smile with his woodworking gifts.

He is survived by his sister Brenda Clifton and husband Rod of Henderson, his brothers Robbie Copeland and wife Pam of Pine Bluff, Ar, Don Copeland and wife Becky of Kilgore, his son Brandon Copeland of Henderson and daughter Vanessa Allen and husband Ray of Houma, La., his grandchildren Mason, Kennedy, Christian, Katie and Jacob and great grandchildren Axl, Evie and Eli, his aunt Laverne and husband Nolen, uncle Clyde Fagg and wife Opal, Niel Copeland.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.  

A private family service will be held at a later date.
