Ira Wayne White

Ira Wayne Smith was born September 24, 1944, in Beaumont, Texas to Robert Braxton and Lucille Barns White. Wayne met his Lord  and Savior face to face on January 11, 2023 in Longview.

Wayne was employed by Chevron Oil Co. and retired after 28 years of service. He was and active member of Longview 1st Assembly. He was a member of the Longview Touch of Glass Corvette Club for several years.  Wayne loved fishing, fast cars, the Dallas Cowboys and Blues Music.  Wayne loved his family more than anything.  He was a devoted, loving husband and a kind, gentle, caring father.  He was a devoted brother to his sister and brothers.  He was also, as his grandchildren called him, a great Poppy! He was respected and loved by all who knew him.  

After receiving Christ his Lord and Savior, he was a faithful servant of the Lord.  Wayne was man of integrity and a loyal and trusted friend.  We cannot imagine having to continue in this life without him.  Wayne's parents, precede him in death.  Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Mary White of Longview, son, Todd White of Euless, daughter Mitzi  and husband Chris Cummings of Bossier City, La; Grandson, Nathan Levy and wife Brittany of Pittsburg, Grandson, Brian Rodin of Longview, two granddaughters,  Molli Rodin of Longview and Maci Cummings of Bossier City. Two great granddaughters, Makenzi Rodin of Longview, and Kendall Levy of Pittsburg.  Her sister, Bobbie Troy (Butch) of Port Neches and brothers, Lynn and Mark White of Beaumont. as well as Nieces, nephews, cousins and host of friends.
