Kenneth Ray Barrett of Ore City, Texas, passed away from this life on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at the age of 72 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Kenneth lost his courageous battle with leukemia and received his wings to fly home.
Kenneth was born August 20, 1948 in Hughes Springs, Texas to Calvin Ray Barrett and Reba Barton Barrett. He was a member of Missionary Baptist Church. He had been a diesel mechanic and welder throughout his life.
Mr. Barrett was survived by his loving wife, Joyce. He is also survived by his children: Timmy Barrett (Melinda), Tommy Barrett (Julie), Larcy Reid, Sammy Collier, Geneva Hooper (Chris); grandchildren: Tristan and Trevor Barrett, Aaron and Emma Ables, Amanda Miles (Bradley), Micah Morgan (Ashley), Bladen and Azlyn Reid, Miranda and Morgan Collier, Ashton and Cruz Nickelbur; great-grandchildren: Rush and Maggie Miles, Nicole, Isabella, Brooklyn, and Amarie; one sister: Dott Roberts (Ronney); one nephew: Gregg Lansdale (Randi) and children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Carol Barrett and stepson Greg Nickelbur.
A memorial service is planned for a later date.
