On Sunday, May 3, 2020, Kenneth Dale Burns, a great servant of The Lord went home to be with his Savior at the age of 53.
Ken was born in Kermit Texas on 7-30-1966. His family moved to Gladewater in 1968. Ken was a Gilmer Buckeye, he supported his team while in the band as a tuba player. He never lost his love for local football. As a young man he was a volunteer firefighter and EMS first responder with the East Mountain Volunteer Fire Department. Ken got a degree in safety from Kilgore College and enjoyed working in Human Resources at Tri W Global. Ken was an avid fisherman. He spent many weekends at tournaments and any other time he could get to a fishing hole. Ken loved people and he loved to sing, he shared these loves through his company Soaring Eagle Entertainment. He was a passionate man and he would share whatever he had with you. Even if he just met you.
Ken is survived by his wife Jennifer; her children, Jeremy, Cory, and Sonny Burns and other children that he loved as his own, Bryan and Bradley Winton, Lacy and Gabrielle Croft; 13 grandchildren; his mother Lucille Burns, grandmother Helen Gentry; brother Wade Burns and wife Gina, brother Robert Burns and wife Cindy, brother Mike Ward and wife Becky, brother Jerry Burns and wife Mylinda, sister Vickie Knox; best friend of 35 years Ed Marlow; and many nieces and nephews that he cherished.
Ken is preceded in death by his dad Robert (Bob) Burns and nephew Randy Burns.
In his last years Ken fully surrendered his life to Jesus. He founded Motorcycle Circle of Prayer. And later co-founded Revive Recovery with Pastor Ed Maclean. Ken loved his Revive Church family and was active in security and the tech team.
There will be memorial ride beginning at 1 o’clock on Saturday, May 16, 2020 starting from the corner of FM 1252 and Hwy 135 right across from the EZ Mart. The ride will finish at Gladewater Lake where we will share in a Celebration of Life from 2-4.
