Larry Minx Obituary

Larry Wayne Minx passed away on September 23, 2023 in Longview, Texas.  He was 82. Larry was born to Clyde and Effie Minx of Oklahoma City, OK on November 8, 1940.  He was welcomed into his OKC home by an older sister, Hazel.  She was 16 years older than him and was delighted to have a baby brother. Larry spent his childhood in OKC and attended Classen High School.  He graduated in 1958.  After graduating high school, he went on to attend and graduate from Oklahoma City University with a business degree.  While attending Oklahoma City University, he met Marilyn Thompson.  They married in 1963.  They were blessed with two children, Kari Minx Bailey and David Minx. In 1990, Larry married Wanda Trammell.  They were blessed with one daughter, Chelsea Minx. Larry spent his career in the oil and gas business.  He was a hardworking salesman who truly enjoyed his customers, co-workers and his career.  Larry moved several times with his career making friends in many cities including Omaha, Kansas City, Houston, Ft. Worth, Abilene and Longview.  Larry was a great storyteller.  In his later years, he loved to tell stories of his business adventures and deals.  He also loved to watch westerns, visit museums, the game of golf, and the Dallas Cowboys.  

Larry is survived by his children, Kari and Marc Bailey of Longview, David and Paula Minx of Enid, Ok., and Chelsea Minx of Garland, Tx. ; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Maddie, Parker, Morgan and Aaron, Cale, Jud, Jackson and Owen.  Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Effie Minx, his sister Hazel Rayburn and brother-in-law John Rayburn.  

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your favorite charity in honor of Larry.
