Laura Lee Russell Bourgeois, age 57, went to be with the Lord on December 20, 2020, with her loving family by her side. She was born March 15, 1963 and spent her childhood in Greenwood, MS, Memphis, TN, and Pine Bluff, AR. She graduated from Watson Chapel High School. She settled in the ETX area where she raised her precious children and became a grandmother as unique as her name, "Mimzi". She then remarried and enjoyed her last years in Louisiana with her cajun sweetheart. Laura loved to be with family and friends. She had a gift of making everyone feel like family and, if you needed anything, she was always there for you. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mary Russell; grandparents, James and Lena Russell, Leonard and Ruth Kent; her dearest brother-in-law, Gary "Pop" Lester; and her uncle Jimmy Skrabanek. Laura left behind her husband, Jesse Bourgeois; her children, daughter, Kaylee Robinson Oliver and husband Corey; son, Randall Weston Robinson and wife Hannah; her beautiful grandchildren, Carlee, Cooper, Caroline, Rynleigh, and Covin; her 3 older sisters who adored her, Sherry Lester, Donna Kay Newman, and Debbie Sample; her neices and nephews who thought she "hung the moon", Angie Burgess, Amy Latimore, Ashley Langston, Mary Alford, Christopher Peurifoy and Jeff Mathews; her sweet aunt Lee Skrabanek; and many family and friends who were very special to her. Memorials can be sent to the American Cancer Society for colon cancer research.
