Lewis McCarty

Lewis McCarty, 87 passed away at his home in Longview, TX on Wednesday, 07/13/22.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday July 21st at Center Cross Church, 4010 Judson Rd. Longview TX.

Mr. McCarty was born October 29, 1934 in Laurel Mississippi. He served in the Army National Guard and in the US Air Force. While in the Air Force he met his wife J. LaVerne Rhodes. They were wed on July 18, 1954 in Rapides Parish Louisiana. Lewis worked as an over the road truck driver, a mechanic, and was the owner of East Texas Fiberglass.

Lewis and LaVerne loved traveling and large family gatherings, all were invited and all were welcome.

Lewis was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Lessie (Nix) McCarty, His loving wife of 65 years LaVerne (Rhodes) McCarty, his brother Bobby, his sister Winnie Faye Green, and his daughter Donna Gagneux. He is survived by his children David, Gary (Sherri), Michell Hill (William), Sinda Mullens (Roy D.), and numerous grand-children and great-grandchildren.
