Mary Louise (Christian) Sanderford

Mary Louise (Christian) Sanderford was born October 18, 1937 In Longview, TX to Sessum Christian (father) and Bennie Christian (mother). Mary went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 4, 2020.

Many friends and relatives of Mary in Longview enriched her entire life. After her graduation from Longview High School in 1956 she entered North Texas State University in Denton, TX where she was married in 1958 to William (Bill) Sanderford of Dallas, TX. 

Mary’s earliest years in Dallas were spent as a mom to her three sons, Christian, Jeffrey and Douglas. A more dedicated and loving mother could never have existed.  A very outgoing woman, she had many friends in Dallas. Her husband worked in the Insurance /Reinsurance Field while Mary primarily worked in the Optoelectronic Industry, enjoying much success. 

Mary and Bill moved to Longview in 2002.  Mary had become an avid quilter prior to moving and she continued this hobby after her move back to Longview. 

Because of her outgoing personality and friendly manner, Mary developed many friends during her quilting days.  These friends so enriched her life. 

A special mention should be given to a group consisting of Mary and several of her cousins, hence called “The Cousins”.  She dearly loved getting together each month for games and other fellowships. 

A special mention should be made of Mary and Bill’s friends for so many years, Wade and Jaretta Williams of Lake Fork, TX.

Mary’s death brings much sadness to all who knew her and an indescribable parting for Bill.

Surviving is son Christian and grandson also Christian, of Richardson, TX, Jeffrey and wife Carolyn, of Fredericksburg, TX and Douglas and wife Robin of Lewisville, TX.

Services for Mary Louise Sanderford, 82, of Longview will 10 AM, Friday, August 7, 2020 in the chapel of East Texas Funeral Home.   Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM prior to services, and continue afterwards.
