Nancy Rebecca Irby, 71, unexpectedly passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Sunday, January 7, 2024 in her home in Avinger, Texas. A private family gathering will be held to honor and celebrate Nancy in lieu of a traditional service.
Nancy was born on May 12, 1952 to Hugh and Lois Irby in Houston, Texas. She grew up in Houston, Texas and graduated from Spring Branch Sr. High.
From 1974-1978, Nancy gave birth to two daughters, Jerri Sherrod and Angela Kelly. Throughout her life she had great faith in God, loved being outdoors fishing or watching wildlife, enjoying family get-togethers that included playing cards, domino's and chain drinking cups of coffee. Her jovial upbeat personality always brought light to any room she found herself in.
From those closest to her, she will always be remembered for her genuine laugh, love of makeup, gaudy jewelry, dressing up; Her beautiful handwriting, love of dancing, cracking jokes, and ability to laugh at herself when she made a mistake. Nancy was a free spirit that lead with her heart and always made those around her feel loved.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Hugh and Lois Irby of Arkansas and her brother, Charles Irby of California. She is survived by her daughters, Jerri Sherrod of Texas and Angela Kelly of Arkansas. Two sisters, Rhonda Glasgow Priddy and Renee Morrison of Texas. Nancy's love and presence extended to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren include Shandee Bayliss, Benjamin Frazier and Roc Kelly. Among her great-grandchildren are Breelynn Frazier, Scarlet and Sora Bayliss.
Nancy leaves behind many relatives and friends but rest assured, she is impatiently waiting in heaven for the time when she is able to reunite with those she loves with all her heart.
