Peggy Katharina Calhoun

Peggy Katharina Calhoun of Longview Texas passed away on Tuesday morning June 23, 2020.

Peggy was born on Schweinfurt, Germany on February 27, 1956. She moved to the US as a child and grew up in Keithville, LA. She was the eldest of her five siblings. She attended college at ETBC in Marshall, Texas and then married to Alejandro Vazquez. They had four daughters. She then became a caretaker for young Matthew with her partner, Joaquin, later in life.

Peggy was a well-known member in the community as she enjoyed helping those in need. She was member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Longview, TX where she loved working with the children. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting, coloring on her iPad, and cooking for others. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

Peggy is survived by her mother, Ann Calhoun; her spouse Joaquin Davila; her siblings JoAnn Calhoun Baker, Kevin Calhoun, Clay Calhoun, Susan Wyles, and Nancy Oden; her children Judy Vazquez, Erika Sanchez, Christina Vazquez, Kathy Villagomez, and Matthew Davila. She is predeceased by her father John Calhoun and grandson Dakota Vazquez.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 11, 2020 at 10:00 am at Fellowship Baptist Church at 818 Spring Hill Rd, Longview, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.  Any flower delivery is sole responsibility of sender.
