Rebecca “Becky” Grabener Schooley was born on April 12, 1959, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Vance Grabener and Dorothy Brown Grabener. She passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, in Elysian Fields, Texas.Becky loved to bake and was a wonderful cook who delighted in feeding those she loved. She had a true green thumb and could make anything grow and flourish. A firecracker at heart, Becky was never afraid to speak her mind. She found joy in trips to the beach and Shell Island, listening to Willie Nelson, and creating art from the shells she collected there. She especially loved time spent at the “Funny Farm” (Ryan and Katey’s place). One of many children, Becky was a natural caregiver who always looked after her family in the best way she knew how.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sid Schooley; her parents; her brothers, Donnie Vance Grabener, Dannie Edward Grabener, and David Grabener; and her sisters, Jeanie Owen, Linda Haney, and Mary Farrell.
She is survived by her son, Eric Grabener and wife Kelli; her daughters, Jenny Bell Alexander and Wendy Kay Alexander; her grandchildren, Sid Alexander and wife Annie, Jon-Eric Grabener and wife Ashley, Jacob Grabener and wife Crista, Casey Rose and wife Jen, McKinley Cline, Madi Webster, Nicki Hawkins, and Brittani Crooks; and her great-grandchildren, Gracie Grabener, Jayden Grabener, Rebecca Sue Grabener, Jon Grabener, Wynter Kelley, and Rhiannon Kelley.
She is also survived by her brother, Dennie Joe Grabener; her sisters, Patricia Lindsey and husband Bobby, Brenda Tauzin, Shirley Brister and husband Danny, and Tammy Barras; her nephew, Ryan Elrod and wife Katey, along with their children, Shannon and Garrett; and numerous other nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. Becky was deeply loved by many and will be sorely missed.
