Richard Campbell Bothwell

Richard Campbell Bothwell, Sr., known affectionately as Dick, departed this world to be with his Heavenly Father on July 18th, 2025.
He was born in Waco, Texas, on February 28th, 1939, to Evelyn Siggins and adopted by Emmie Self Bothwell of Longview, Texas.
Mr. Bothwell attended Subiaco Academy in Subiaco, Arkansas. He graduated in 1957 and was accepted to Texas A&M University as a proud member of the Class of 1961 and a member of The Corps of Cadets' Squadron 2.
Mr. Bothwell met his wife, Patsy "Pat" Miller, in 1959, and after a whirlwind romance, they wed on November 26th, 1960. Together, they brought three beautiful children into this world- their daughter, Mary Cecilia "Celi", and sons Richard Campbell "Dicky" Jr. and the late Christopher James.
He was a loyal employee of Texas Eastman Chemical Company for 37 years, and co-owned Bothwell's Hallmark alongside his wife and daughter. He was a faithful and active member of Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Longview for the duration of his life. He was an active member of the Subiaco Academy Alumni Association, where he served as President for many years, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also an active donor of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets Association.
Mr. Bothwell's most notable attributes were his unwavering faith in his Heavenly Father, and his undying love for his family, friends, and classmates. He built a legacy that cannot be replaced or replicated.
He is survived by wife, Pat; daughter; Celi; son, Dicky and daughter in law, Amber; granddaughters Angele, Toni, and Emmie and grandsons in law Jesse and Jordan; grandsons Steven and Riggs; and great grandchildren Tommy, Aerilyn, Raelyn, and Ginny. He is preceded in death by biological mother Evelyn; adopted mother, Emmie; brother, Jim; son, Christopher; daughter in law, Cheryl; and son in law, Tommy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to Saint Anthony Catholic Church, Rusk County Pets Alive, or the charity of your choice in his memory.
Funeral Rosary will be at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Longview, Texas, on August 1st, 2025 at 2:30 pm, with Mass to follow at 3pm. Reception to be announced.
