Savannah S Pither

Savannah Sierra Pither began her life on November 22nd, 2004 in Longview Texas, and passed away on September 26th, 2023 at Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas, Texas. Join us in celebrating Savannah’s 18 years of life at 3 PM on October 1st, 2023 at Longview First Assembly, 2900 N. Fourth St.

Savannah attended Longview Christian School where she spent years crafting and building the most incredible friendships one could ever hope to find. A free and fearless spirit, Savannah never shied away from time with her beloved family and friends, adventurous experiences, or an opportunity to travel. Nor could she be found ever once passing up the chance to savor a good nap, as one of her self-proclaimed favorite pastimes was, in fact, sleeping. Forever infatuated with savoring the energetic drama brought on by a beautiful storm of any kind, it was anything but unusual to find Savannah living her best life while dancing in the rain. Her creative & playful side could be seen in the random recipes she loved to concoct and her love for the high school drama club. Strong-willed & loyal to a fault, Savannah truly embodied what it means to “lay down your life for your friends” as seen in her selfless efforts to save the life of her friend as they battled the fire together in her last moments and yet again in her final act as a life-giving organ donor. Relentless in standing up for others, Savannah enjoyed her time as a South Padre Lifeguard, and much like the animals she served at the animal shelter she volunteered at, was responsible for nurturing and saving several lives while tending to her duties. Savannah lived life on her own terms and departed this life a true hero to many families who even now rejoice in having been granted a new lease on life.

Savannah is proceeded in death by her father Michael Gilbert, her Great-grandparents Aubrey and Emma Waits, and Jack and Loyce Pither.

Those left to cherish her memory are her Mother Bridget Pither, brother Cody Calhoun, sister Breonna Martin, grandparents Pat and Brenda Pither, nieces and nephew Kodi, Kingsleigh, and Knight Calhoun, Aunt and Uncle Brandi and Patrick Pither, and cousins Patrick Pither III, and Brennen Pither and many great aunts and uncles; as well as countless friends who loved her deeply.

Savannah will forever be our Hero.
