Sharon Mock Obituary

Sharon J. Mock
Longview, Texas
Born on August 26, 1943, in Hammond, Indiana, she received her wings on June 12, 2021. She was met at the Pearly Gates by numerous loved ones, including her son Lorne Mock and her two brothers Sonny and Joseph.

Sharon was the youngest of six children to the late Louis Hamilton and Grace Lenore McMillan. After her mother’s passing when she was 4, her Aunt Ollie Butler adopted her and raised her in California. She graduated from John Burroughs Senior High School in Burbank, California. After her graduation, she moved back to Indiana, where she met her late husband, Michael Allen Mock and they adopted two children. In 1984, she and her children moved to Longview, Texas.

Sharon is survived by her daughter Lianne Escalante and her husband, Marcos, of Avinger, TX. Grandson Josef Aragon, his wife Brooke, and their three boys Camden, Dakota, and Ty. Her granddaughter Megan Aragon, and youngest grandson Jonathan Aragon all of Longview, Texas. Her brother Rusty McMillan and his wife, Judy of New Castle, Indiana. Her sister Ginny Tracey and her husband, John of Westville, Indiana. Her sister Sandy Hoover and her husband, Butch of Topeka, Indiana. And her two dogs, Rebel, and Rio, whom she loved so very much.

Her greatest enjoyment, besides spending time with her family, was being a dedicated member of Revive Church in Longview, where she attended every chance she could. She loved her church and they became a part of her family. She enjoyed listening to her KVNE 89.5 Christian music, challenging herself with Jeopardy, getting pampered, and a lover of anything involving cats! She was “Grandma” to everyone, had the best sense of humor and kept it throughout her many trials. “Sassy” at times could be described as her, but she definitely knew it. However, most would describe her as an inspiration to anyone she met with how strong, loving, caring, and faithful she was.
“You have left this world of sorrow, and are free from pain and harm, and now rest in peace and comfort, in the blessed Savior’s arms.”
