Tracey Neal Heim, 57, of Ore City, Texas, passed away on August 26, 2025. Born on July 6, 1968, in Longview, Tracey spent his life deeply rooted in the Ore City, Shady Shores community he loved and served. Tracey was a devoted husband to his wife Kat Heim and a proud father to his children: son Trenten and wife Amanda; daughter Sky; and son David and husband Todd.
He cherished his role as a grandfather to Zeke, Zayne, Willow, and Gage. His family was the heart of his world. He loved his children and grandchildren beyond words. He is also remembered fondly by his siblings: sister Dana and her husband Mike; brother Billy and his wife Sherry; brother Steven and his wife Amber; and brother Charlie
and his wife Lisa.Tracey was preceded in death by his mother Helen Merlene Heim, father James Ross Heim Sr., a sister Glenda, and brothers Joe, James, and Rusty. A dedicated flooring professional, Tracey built a career specializing in tile, carpet,
and hardwoods. His craftsmanship and work ethic earned him respect. Beyond his profession, Tracey was known for his unwavering loyalty and commitment to those around
him.
An avid fisherman, Tracey found peace on the water of Lake O' the Pines with a rod in hand. His love for fishing reflected the patience and calm he brought into every aspect of life. He was also a pillar of the community-serving as South Shore Volunteer Fire Department's Chief-a role he embraced with pride because he had followed in his father's footsteps. Before he fell ill, Tracey's dedication to service extended to restoring the neighborhood park and waterfront from his and his sibling's childhood. His vision for the Shady Shore's Park will continue. His efforts will leave a lasting mark on the place he called home-a legacy of love that will benefit future generations to come.
Tracey Heim will always be remembered as an amazing husband, father, brother, grandfather, friend, and community leader. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. Forever loved and always missed.
A celebration of Life will be held for Tracey at the Shady Shores Park, as the Ore City Fire Department holds a "Final Call" to one of their own, on Sunday August 31st starting at noon. Everyone is welcome to come join family and friends, as well as the community, to see the hard work that has been put into restoring the park back to all its glory...... Tracey's legacy, his final wish.
