Born on October 4, 1941, in Columbia, MS, to Lunsford Colson Wells and Bernice Pickering Wells, Van's life was marked by a legacy of steadfastness, love, and creativity. Van was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was always proud to have served his country.
Van is survived by the love of his life, Frances. Married on August 10, 1963, they built a family anchored in love and mutual respect. Van is survived by his son, Steven, wife Elizabeth, daughters Amanda, wife Dannis, and Maegan, husband Shannon. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Gavan, Jennifer, Erin, Preslie, Haley, eleven great-grandchildren, and his little buddy Bennie.
