Wilbur Marcene Johnson, Jr., age 63, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022, at his home in Kilgore, Texas. Marcene was born on March 18, 1959, in Tampa, Florida, but spent many of his younger years in Oklahoma before moving back to Florida. He then graduated high school and attended Tampa Technical Institute earning a degree in Diesel Technology. Eventually, Marcene found his way to Texas where he spent the majority of his adult years. Marcene loved to fish, but only catch and release because he hated to clean fish! He loved anytime spent with family, his and Adrianna’s trips to the store, hanging out with the kids and grandkids, and playing with the great-grandkids. Marcene would always go out of his way to help anybody, and was just a phone call away for anyone! He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and anyone that knew him.
Marcene was proceeded in death by his mother, Julia Edwards; father, Wilbur Marcene Johnson, Sr.; step-son, Josh Clinton; grandson, J.T. Clinton, and half-sibling, Pamela Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Pam Johnson of Kilgore; dad, Tom Edwards of Valrico, Florida.; daughter, Brandi Runions of Kilgore; step-daughter, Summer Bonner and Jesse of Troup; a very special niece/daughter, Adrianna Swanson of Kilgore; half-siblings, LaVonda Delaney; Melissa Reynolds; Mark Johnson; Justin Johnson; Melinda Johnson; and Jeffrey Johnson; grandchildren, Hanna Runions of Kilgore; Trent Runions of Kilgore; Seth Clinton and Jessica of Greenville; Haley Clinton and Adam of Gladewater; Taylor Clinton and Kamryn of Kilgore; Madi Clinton of Greenville; Chris Spencer of Arp; Cheyenne Spencer and Joey of Leverett’s Chapel; Brittney Bates and Alex of Tyler; Jordan Bonner of Tyler; Josh Early of Troup; 14 great-grandchildren and many more adopted ones; numerous cousins and other family members.
Memorial Services for Wilbur Marcene Johnson, Jr. will be conducted at Eastview Church of God on Hwy 31 in Kilgore, with Reverend Curtis Wood officiating. The services are scheduled for Saturday, October 22nd at 1:00 pm, and are open to all family and friends. Flowers will be received at the church.
